Growing Up Fast

I couldn't let us leave for the Gulf Coast without posting some sort of an update, and tonight Jackson gave me the perfect subject. He's working on a new skill...using a spoon! Despite the messy photos, he is actually doing very well feeding himself.

He's too cute and literally eats double-handed. He takes a bite from the spoon, then a bite from his other hand, then back to the spoon. I'll try to get video of it, too. Hilarious!

Parents Day

Caroline's preschool hosted Parents Day on Monday. The kids put on a 30 minute music program and then were awarded certificates of completion for the school year. Special pieces of artwork had been saved all year long and were on display for us. We were really blown away by some of Caroline's work. Her teachers put together a binder for each child with photos from the year and a collection of artwork... it was the sweetest gift! There are only 3 weeks left in the school year, but they promise to be action-packed with Bounce House Day, Splash Day and Pizza Party Day.

Each child was given a school shirt to wear for the performance. Look at that face! Isn't she beautiful?

Caroline and another little boy presented the Director with a year-end thank you gift. Is anyone else as worried as I am about that all-too-adoring look Caroline is giving him?

Caroline's teachers presented her with a certificate.

Caroline completed two paintings on canvas this year. We get to bring them home on the last day of school... I can't wait to hang them! I think we might have a budding artist on our hands!

Today's the Day!

It's official! Caroline is 4 years old today! The time has gone by way too quickly. She is such a big girl now - it really blows me away.

Our sleepy birthday girl crawled into our bed this morning for cards and gifts.

Jackson gave her the pink Zhu Zhu pet... her first one! She loves it. Mommy and Daddy got her a dress and another book for her Tag. The real suprise comes tomorrow at her party. Shh!

Birthday pancakes this morning.

Mommy and Daddy sang "Happy Birthday" while Jackson took the whole thing in.

4 is knocking on her door!

The countdown to Caroline's 4th birthday is in full swing. As is tradition, we made a paper countdown chain last week, and it now only has 4 links still hanging from her bedpost.

To kickoff her birthday week, I made ladybug cupcakes for Caroline to take to school today, with some help from her, of course!


Here she is trying to hold the carrying case so I can take a picture. Instead of a smile, I got "This is SOOOOO heavy!" Too cute. And, yes, we color-coordinated her outfit with her cupcakes. As Daddy says, "That's how we roll."

And, yes, Jackson climbed up there all by himself. He also holds on to the chair arm and jumps up and down.
